Fender Stratocaster 1961 S/No. 69267 owned by Neil Warden

History: Bought used in Dunfermline, Scotland, UK in 1972. The guitar was re-finished in 1984 keeping it's original 'Fiesta Red' finish (when bought it had been refinished to dark walnut), a few 'dings' and scrapes with over 20 years of gigging. Last refretted in 1984 with wide frets, has had fret dress since. The original machine heads have been retained but have been replaced with Schaller gold heads. The guitar originally had an 'out of phase' switch fitted on the scratch-plate when bought in '72, this has been removed and the holes plugged. As far as I am aware only one pot has been replaced, original pick-ups, 3 way selector switch and cloth covered wiring. The back plate is not original. I have a tremolo bar from the 60's although the original broke. Definately a players instrument, low action with 10's absolutely no string choke. A seriously great neck profile, not chunky (shallow 'D' profile). Pick-ups are very mellow and 'woody'. Scroll down page for images.
